If you need a quick and easy way to share your screen or help out a friend with his or her computer then join.me may be a good option. join.me offers basic screen sharing and remote control for the free version and more advanced paid versions are available as well. However, for most of us the free version is sufficient and setup is simple. The person sharing their screen downloads a small executable to their PC or MAC (yes we're not to happy about it not being available for Linux) , runs the installer, then gives the remote viewer a short access code. After the connection is established the remote viewer has the option to request control of the other persons screen. Best of all this is all done inside your web browser. The free version of the service doesn't offer isn't as robust in options and isn't quite as smooth at times when compared to programs such as TeamViewer however, it is free and much easier and faster to establish a connection. You can check it out for yourself at www.join.me.
