OK, I've been a little bored this weekend can't you tell? I'm writing a post about about cheap headphones that you can buy at Target. Actually they're not all that cheap. I think I paid like $42 for these things despite my better judgment to grab the Sony's (which were a little cheaper) on the rack next to them. Anyway, why are they $42? Because they're metallic blue, they have skulls on them, and they do look cool. Also, don't be fooled by the metallic color. There is no metal on them except for maybe some solder and wiring on the inside. So why did I buy them? Well I wanted a new pair of headphones and I like skulls. Overall I'm happy with them. They look different, sound well, and do provide some noise canceling. They're also comfortable and they do fold making it easier to throw in my backpack and take to work for those long hours in the server room. The noise canceling definitely comes in handy while I'm in there but again these don't offer much. If you're thinking about buying a pair I would say that the Sony's on the shelf close by would probably be a better choice. I don't think these would hold well being tossed around or kept in a backpack. The Skullcandy website shows guys wearing these their on skateboards and bikes. Yeah, I would give them until the end of the first day under those conditions. These things feel like they could be broken very easily but hay, they also come with the Skullcandy logo cardboard stencil. Bottom line, your paying for the look and that's about it. I do like mine for whatever it's worth though.
